Mary Edith Calton, 95, of Bostwick, passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at Palatka Health Care Center following an extended illness. She was a native of Baltimore, MD and had lived here since 1982 coming from Punta Gorda. Mary was a very active member of Bostwick Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, devoted to her family and the cornerstone of her families Christian life. Mary loved her church family and all children and considered many of them as her own. She always worked alongside her husband, John, in the family business. A quote from Mary, “Above all love God.”
She is survived by her children, John R. Calton Jr., Creed Allen Calton, Mary Zimmerman, Carolyn Watson and Rose Marie Dowdy, 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Melody, MaryAnne and Tori for their loving care of Mary.
Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, April 10, 2017 at Bostwick Baptist Church with Bro. David Eddins officiating. Entombment will follow in Bostwick Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at Johnson-Overturf Chapel in Palatka.
