Obituary for Kendell Hancock
Kendell Adrian Hancock, 58, of Salt Springs, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, May 11, 2017 at his home from natural causes. Born and raised in Palatka, he resided in Salt Springs on Lake George for 10 years moving there from Bostwick where he lived on Cedar Creek. Kendell was 1976 graduate of Palatka South High School and had worked as a machine operator in tissue converting at Georgia Pacific. He was also a member of Palatka Moose Lodge #184. Kendell loved the outdoors and especially the St. Johns River on which he lived most of his life. He was an avid fisherman and hunter as well as a fan of the Florida Gators and NASCAR.
He was preceded in death by his father, Adrian Hancock and his grandparents, Wendell and Coonie Hancock.
Kendell is survived by his mother, Charlotte Hancock of Bostwick, a son, Zachary Hancock of Bostwick, a daughter, Holly Henry (Christopher) of East Palatka, a brother, Kris Hancock (Anita) of Bostwick, 2 sisters, Kevon Hancock of Bostwick and Kandee Bacon (Gary) of Palatka, 4 grandchildren, Canten Belden, Gage Hancock, Ireland Hancock and Violet Henry and the mother of his children, Wendy Hancock.
Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Johnson-Overturf Chapel in Palatka with Bro. Murray Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from6-8 P.M. at Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in Palatka.
