Condolences

Condolence From: Heather Tallchief
Condolence: To an extraordinary woman, the most sincere and caring friend I have had the honor to been blessed with. Our story is one of unconventional friendship. I am eternally humbled by your generous heart, your compassionate nature, and such phenomenal sense of humor. Shirley Mason, never have I met someone so impactful on my life! My husband, my father, and my son equally embraced you with true love. You touched us all with your friendship. My heart hurts as I write, but know, I will always love you, my dear friend, thank you for your amazing presence in my life.

Condolence: I am going to greatly miss Shirley. She became a huge part of my heart in a short period of time. She set me straight if needed , and vice-versa.Just like a mom !! Never a time when she couldn't make me laugh. I will always love her and she is in my heart forever .

Thank you Gayle and Susan for bringing us together some years ago . Love you both , my thoughts and prayers are with you !

Condolence From: Richard & Margaret Hodge
Condolence: My wife and I worked alongside Shirley for years at DCF (in my case, literally - she was at the next desk). DCF was not a particularly humorous place to work unless you were one desk away from Shirley. Quick, razor-sharp wit! The lady could find some way to make you smile no matter what. And yet she could be warm and serious, always eager to help when she sensed you were down about something. She was a great friend. We lost touch with her after she left Palatka and that is a regret but she lives on in our memories, that wonderful mischievous smile still on her face.

Condolence: Dear Gail and family,
I was so sad when I read that Shirley had passed. I had been working on the fence line between our house and Mrs. Mason's on Tuesday. I had silent chats with Ollie Mae, Mama and Shirley for letting the vines get so out of hand...they never would have! I read the notice in the paper when I came in.

Please know I have thought about her so often since she moved to Jacksonville. I am so sorry I didn't do a better job of keeping in touch.

Can hear her laughter and know she is in heaven with Mr.Fred, Ollie, Mama and Rusty having a grand Ole time catching up.

Love and prayers,

Alice Cooper...Carr Street

Condolence: I had the pleasure of working w Shirley @ DCF. She was a wonderful person & had an infectious laugh that would light up the room. Though it's been many years since we've crossed paths I will remember her fondly. 🌞✌🏼🙏🏻
