Ernestine Walker Wynn, 98, of Keystone Heights, passed from this life on Monday, July 31, 2017 at Windsor Manor Nursing Home in Starke following an extended illness. Born in Belle, Florida, she lived in Jacksonville from 1968-1973 before moving to Florahome. She then moved to Palatka in 2010 and eventually to Keystone Heights to live with her son. Ernestine was a homemaker and a member of the College Road Church of Christ. “Ernie” as she was affectionately known, enjoyed sewing, baking and cooking. She dearly loved her husband Floyd and enjoyed their times going fishing and to the beach as well as working together in their garden and then canning the fruits of their labor.
She was preceded death by her husband of 53 years, Floyd Wynn, her parents, John L. Walker and Lillie Matthews Walker, a brother, Marlin Walker and a sister, AmmaLee Roberts.
Ernie is survived by 2 sons, Russ Wynn (Beth) of San Mateo and Jim Wynn (Yvette) of Keystone Heights, a daughter, Elaine Jones (Tommy) of Trenton, 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
Services celebrating Ernie’s life will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Johnson-Overturf Chapel in Palatka with Bro. C.L. Overturf, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Palatka Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10:00 A.M until the time of services at 11:00.
