Donald Wayne “Don” Coleman, 65, of Hollister, passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at North Florida Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. Born in Palatka, he was a 1970 graduate of Interlachen High School and had been a life-long resident of Putnam County. Don was a supervisor in tissue converting at Georgia Pacific where he had been working for the past 47 years. He was a Baptist and in his leisure time, enjoyed hunting and fishing. Don also cherished time spent with his family and especially vacationing at the beach in St. Augustine.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Coleman, his maternal grandfather, Preston Wisham and paternal grandmother Agnes Kintz.
Don is survived by his wife of 45 years, Cathy Willis Coleman of Hollister, 2 daughters, Bonita Colbert (Nicholas) and Lisa Screen (Wade), all of Hollister, his mother, Mary Coleman of Palatka, a brother, Ronald Coleman (Alice) of Hollister and 6 grandchildren, Hunter Screen (Terra), Mina Screen, Breanna Stallings, Isabella Rhoden, Jackson Wayne Screen and Damien Colbert.
Services celebrating Don’s life will be at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, October 8, 2017 at Johnson-Overturf Chapel in Palatka with Bro. Jakie Carmicle and Pastor Larry Litzell officiating. Burial will be at Hollister Sweetwater Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 P.M. until the time of services at 3:00 P.M.
