Obituary for Ernest Earl ""Bill" "Pop"" Taylor
Ernest E. “Bill” “Pop” Taylor, 70, of Palatka, passed from this life on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at his home following an extended illness. Born in Alma, Georgia, he resided in Palatka over 2 years coming from Dallas, Georgia. Bill worked 47 years as an electrician having owned and operated Bill Taylor Electrical. He was a member of Wayside Baptist Church in Dallas, Georgia where he served as a deacon. In his leisure time, Bill enjoyed hunting and fishing, working on his 1955 Chevy and taking care of his chickens.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Linda Taylor of Palatka, 3 sons, Billy Taylor (Heidi) of Dallas, GA, Brad Taylor of Palatka and B.J. Taylor (Marla Walker) of Hiram, GA, a daughter, Balinda Spinks (Robbie) of Heflin, AL, a brother, Pete Taylor of Acworth, GA, 2 sisters, Glenda Minshew of Jacksonville, FL and Theresa Johnson of Cartersville, GA, 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Services celebrating Bill’s life will be at 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at Johnson-Overturf Chapel in Palatka with Billy Taylor and Pastor Brad Taylor, Jr officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2:00 P.M. until the time of services at 3:00 P.M.
