A. Norman “Norm” “Papa Pete” Peterson, 89, of Palatka, passed from this life on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center following a brief illness. He was a native of Clay County, Arkansas and had lived in Palatka since 1958 coming from St. Louis. He served in the US Navy during WWII and was a member of American Legion Post #45. Norm had worked for Central States and retired after 42 ½ years of service. His hobbies included fishing and fixing fishing rods and reels.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Stella Peterson, parents, William Arthur and Rutha E. Peterson and sisters, Shirley Stone, Carol Nuttell, and Mary Curnutte and step-grandchild, Michael Christopher Judson.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Carol Peterson, daughter, Beth Jones (Robert) of Greensboro, NC, step-children, Cindy Rodriguez (Mike) of Bostwick, Keith Sutton (Pam) of Lakeland, Anne Mattox (Alan) of Melrose, and Elaine Robinson of Gainesville, sister, Sheila Young (Burt) of Gainesboro, TN, 2 grandchildren, David Jones (Echo) and Stephen Jones, 9 step-grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, Grace Elizabeth Jones and Michael Norman Jones and 5 step-great-grandchildren.
Services for Norm will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Johnson-Overturf Chapel in Palatka with Bro. C.L. Overturf, Jr. officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Palatka Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until time of service.
