Obituary for Lucille "Lucy" Blackwelder
Lucille “Lucy” Blackwelder, 53, of Cascade, Montana, passed away on Monday, April 2, 2018 at Peace Hospice in Great Falls, Montana following a short illness. Born in Palatka, Lucy resided in Cascade for over 20 years moving there from Palatka. A 1981 graduate of Palatka High School, Lucy had worked in the Tissue Converting department at Georgia Pacific. While residing in Montana, she has worked as a clerk at Tom’s Grocery and Restaurant in Cascade. In her leisure time, Lucy was an avid collector of owls and butterflies and enjoyed camping in the mountains.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Blackwelder, Jr.
Lucy is survived by her 2 sons, Antonio Salvatore and Ettore Salvatore both of Cascade, MT, her mother, Frankie Blackwelder of Satsuma, 4 brothers, Jerry Blackwelder (Debbie) of Palatka, David Blackwelder (Doris) of Interlachen, Charles Blackwelder (Nikie) of Welaka and Henry Blackwelder of Satsuma, 2 sisters, Mary Vega (Pedro) of Satsuma and Betty Hammond of Satsuma and her very special friend, Dan Sazzio of Cascade, MT.
Services will be at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at Johnson-Overturf Chapel in Palatka with Bro. A.O. Johns officiating. Burial will follow at Pellicer Creek Cemetery in St. Johns County. Visitation will be Monday from 5-7 P.M. at Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in Palatka.
