Obituary for Nelda Mae Wimberley
Nelda Mae Wimberley, 93, of Palatka, passed from this life on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center following an extended illness. She was a native of Chattanooga, Tennessee and resided in Putnam County since 1984 coming from Stevenson, Alabama. Nelda had worked as an inspector with the Coca Cola Bottling plant. She was a Baptist and a very gregarious lady who enjoyed mingling and talking with people. She also enjoyed traveling and working crossword puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Joseph Wimberley, her parents William Walker Pierce and Daisy Mae Gwynn Pierce as well as her siblings, Jimmie Lee Petty, Pearl Pierce, Ira Pierce and Ed Pierce.
Nelda is survived by a daughter, Sheila Bell (Charles) of East Palatka, a son, Wendell Wimberley of Cutler Ridge, FL, a sister-in-law, Grace Wimberley of Stevenson, AL , 4 grandchildren, James Bell (Kim) , Stephanie Rogish (Joe), Scott Bell (Drew) and Keith Wimberley and 5 great-grandchildren, Hunter Roberts, Raelyn Rogish, Daniel Rogish, Allie Bell and Bonnie Wimberley.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
