Condolence From: Steve Haxby
Condolence: Although we've lost contact over the years every time I drive past "Bartel Motors" on Illinois Rd. I think of you and remember the good times we all had at PIT. It was fun reuniting with everyone at the 50th and reliving those long ago days of our youth. In fact I was just explaining to someone last week why we had to suddenly leave Tu lusa's Bar the first time we all met there one night when you discovered that the drop dead blonde had a 5:00 shadow and a very deep unlady like male voice when he said "Give me a Beer"! It seems like over the last 40 or so years every time I turn around I see something that reminds me of you and the gang. Wither it is a carney truck at the fair, or one of our county officers I worked with who's name is Godot (he gets a lot of "waiting for" jokes), or an Alfo driving down the street, or an all night kegger or reunions at the Acme. And now the autumn of our lives has arrived and dear friends or joining other dear friends for our final real life "Our Town" performance. So say hello to Schaubie and the others and keep a good seat close at hand for the rest of us for when we join you and in the meantime I'll say, in your honor, "Bring me a beer, and be quick about it wench!"
