Darrell Earlie Stamper, 57, of Interlachen, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Putnam Community Medical Center following a brief illness. Born in Irvine, Kentucky, he resided in Interlachen since 1994 coming from Irvine. Darrell worked 23 years in the Maintenance Department with the Town of Interlachen. He was an avid Gator Fan and enjoyed riding motorcycles, restoring cars, Western Movies, Gun Smoke (Matt Dillon), drinking coffee and hanging out with his grandchildren. Darrell was also a fanatic of the Walking Dead television series.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Cordia Jean Stamper and his siblings, Kelly Stamper, Duck Stamper and China Jones.
Darrell is survived by his wife of 31 years, Tina R. Stamper of Interlachen, his father, William Stamper of Interlachen, 4 daughters, Tracy Stamper of Hollister, Mary Richardson of Hollister, Cassie Richardson of KY, Rachel Snowden of KY, 4 sons, Darrell Stamper, Jr. of Kentucky, Michael Hamlin of Green Cove Springs, Jonathan Stamper of KY and Eric Hamlin of Interlachen, 4 brothers, William David Stamper, Jr. , Jerry Stamper William Stamper and Robert Jones, 2 sisters, Teresa Harris and Doris Green and 21 grandchildren.
Services celebrating Darrell’s life will be at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at Johnson-Overturf Chapel in Interlachen with Bro. Ricky Bybee officiating. Burial will follow at Pineview Cemetery in Interlachen. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7 P.M. at Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in Interlachen.
