Condolences

Condolence From: SMouton
Condolence: Your family has my deepest sympathy. I am so very sorry to learn of the loss of Mr. Wiley , someone so beloved. I was thinking of something to say to ease the tremendous pain that your family is suffering. So I compiled this list of scriptures that is sure to bring you comfort in this difficult time: (Psalms 55:22; Proverbs 3: 5 & 6; Isaiah 41:10; 2 Corinthians 1:3-7; James 4:8; and Revelation 21:4). Be strong, Cherish the memories. May the peace of God be with your family always. And, please, remember to call upon his name found at Psalms 83:18.

Condolence: Beverly, my deepest sympathy. It's been a long time, but I still think of you and Bud as my friends, and I share in your sadness - from the mountains of western North Carolina.

Condolence: Beverly, may the mercies of God be with you and your family at this time. Bud and I attended High School together in Hickman, KY. He was a best friend and we shared the love of music: band, chorus and just being High School boys.

I was glad that we were able to visit in 2014 and fondly look at the pictures of that day. Bud, was a wonderful person and will miss an occasional e-mail or phone call to or from him. God bless, you are in our prayers.

Condolence: Beverly and Family, we are deeply saddened by the loss of Bud as a husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many. I still have memories of the first time we met Bud when he and Jerry Rothchild came over to our house and played guitar. Bud laid down on the floor on his back and played and sang. that was at least 35 years ago. I always had a deep respect for him when he shared his cancer story with others and the volunteer work he did with the American Cancer Society. God bless each of you!

Condolence: Bud was the reason I accepted my job at SJRSC/Florida School of the Arts. I was interviewing kind of half heartedly, because at the time, I really didn’t care to get a job. I flew to Jacksonville alone and rented a car to drive to Palatka to interview. I had met with Floarts faculty, then to meet with the President and Bud, VP. For reasons I can’t remember, we hung out more than just an interview—maybe because the President was busy.
Bud made me feel welcome, and he made me feel normal.
What everyone else at the school didn’t know was that I was in the middle of chemotherapy treatment for Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. I had lost a lot of hair—but still had more than most—my skin was thin, my stomach was upset with more than nerves for this interview.
And Bud somehow knew.
We were sitting quietly in his office and he said to me, “you know, I’ve had cancer before, and it’s going to be alright. “
At that point I told myself “This is the place for me.”
And it was.
Bud showed me that. He showed me normal. And that when I thought maybe my world didn’t matter, it really did. Every time I talked to Bud, everything mattered: he understood that, as only survivors can.
And only survivors know when enough is enough.
Bud, you have done enough.
Rest In Peace, friend.
Lynnsey
