Norman Eddie Davis, 78, of Palatka, passed from this life on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Putnam Community Medical Center following a brief illness. Born in Wakulla, Florida, he resided in Putnam County since 1946. Eddie was a 1958 graduate of Palatka High School and later served honorably in the U.S. Army. He retired from Georgia Pacific as a digester cook following 46 years of dedicated service. In his later years, Eddie enjoyed walking and riding his golf cart throughout the neighborhood and visiting with his neighbors. Eddie became a member of Southside Baptist Church last year and was not shy about sharing his love for the Lord with others.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Davis and Louise Harris Davis as well as his siblings, Emma Davis, Joe V. Davis, Carolyn Davis, Dorothy Key, Lloyd Davis and Shirley Hartman.
Eddie is survived by his wife of 47 years, Karen H. Davis of Palatka and his daughter, Kalee J. Davis of Palatka.
Memorial services celebrating Eddie’s life will be at 6:00 P.M. Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Johnson-Overturf Chapel in Palatka with Pastor Shaun Thomas officiating and the U.S. Army conducting military honors. The family will receive friends Saturday from 5:00 P.M. until the time of services at 6:00 P.M.
