William Alton “Al” Noblett, 90, of Interlachen, passed away on Friday, January 4, 2019 at Putnam Community Medical Center following an extended illness. He was a native of Burnsville, North Carolina and had lived in Putnam County for the past two years coming from Lehigh Acres, FL. He attended Berea College and had worked as a typesetter for the Ashville Citizen Times. Al served in the US Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. He volunteered with the Haw Creek Fire Department, American Red Cross, WNC Nature Center and was a Boy Scout leader.

He is preceded in death by his son, Tom Noblett.
He is survived by his husband, Ronnie Stephens of Interlachen, daughters, Lisa Pearcy (David Pennybaker) of Fairview, NC and Becky Roberts (Steve) of Fletcher, NC, sister, Ingrey, brothers, Steve and Eddie Noblett, grandson, Rory Noblett and great-grandson, Owen Noblett.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Bethesda Methodist Church in Asheville, NC.
