Theodore Burton “Ted” Cloer, 86, of Palatka, passed away on Sunday, February, 10, 2019 at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center following an extended illness. Born in Cleveland, Tennessee, he resided in Putnam County since 1954 coming from Cleveland, TN. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Ted had been a truck driver with several companies over the years including, Florida Furniture Industries, Mathews Moving & Storage and Container Haulers. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and had also been a member of American Legion Post #45. As his hobbies, Ted enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Etta Cloer, 2 grandchildren, Colby Crowley and Jason Grinage and his siblings, Bobby Cloer, Matilda Hunt, James Cloer, Shirley “Bud” McGowan and Dorothy Register.
Ted is survived by his wife of 58 years, Leona B. Cloer, his children, Rodger Cloer of Orange Park, Danny Cloer of Fernandina Beach, Rose Grinage (Leo) of Vermontville, MI, Cathy Stephens (Hugh) of Palatka and Deborah Crowley (Todd) of Palatka, a sister, Bertie Bell Mann of Jackson, MS, 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Johnson-Overturf Chapel in Palatka with Bro. Willie B. McKinnon, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Pellicer Creek Cemetery in St. Johns County. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7 P.M. at Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in Palatka.
