Thomas Wayne Shell, Jr., 54, of Palatka, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 14, 2019 at Putnam Community Medical Center from natural causes. A native and lifelong resident of Palatka, he was a 1983 honor graduate of Palatka High School. Wayne worked as a painter and sheet rock installer in the construction industry. He also worked in automobile restoration. A member of Palatka Moose Lodge #184, Wayne was a musician and played with “Gold Rush” and “The Sound Band”.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas W. Shell and Thesta Knowles Shell and a grandson, Cade Beck.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 26 years, Linda B. Shell of Palatka, a son, Travis Shell and a daughter, Brandy Shell, both of Palatka, 2 step-children, Mark Beck and Kimberly Bushy (Keith) all of Palatka, 2 brothers, David Shell (Windy) of Fleming Island and Tim Shell (Danette) of St. Augustine, 7grandchildren, Mark “Cole” Beck, Jr., Megan Beck, Brooke Beck, Damon Geisler, Taylor Bushy, Colton Gornto and Carter Aldridge and 7 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at Johnson-Overturf Chapel in Palatka with Bro. Joey Floyd and Bro. Vance Dampier officiating. Burial will follow at Etoniah Cemetery in Bardin. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services at 11:00 A.M.
