C.R., Barry, Donny, John, Peggy Jean, Roberta it’s so hard to believe. I am so sorry. We had been friends for over 40 years. I have so many wonderful and funny memories of us in the 70’s. We were roommates and worked at the bank together. Jody was one of my rare close friends that no matter if we didn’t see or hear from each other often we knew the love was always there. The Lord knows when to take us home. Love, Gloria

I can honestly say you were the most caring and loving person I've ever met. You greeted my son Kaleb with a smile everyday when you substituted his 2nd grade class for the beginning of the school year. He cried and you welcomed him with a hug everyday at the door. That meant the world to my boy, my mama and I. I remember you would text me all the time to tell me how he was doing. You would always tell me that you loved our sweet family so much. I wish I would have texted you the other day to see how you were doing.... please know that we miss you already and that we loved you so much!!!
I pray for peace and comfort for your family. I know you are reunited in Heaven with your husband. I know you are rejoicing up there.
Love you so much Jody.

Jody was an amazing woman. A person who as soon as you met her, you instantly loved her. Jody was caring, compassionate and a lot of fun to be around. Words cannot express how she will be missed by her "work family". Jody was loved by the people in the Bureau of State Farmers Market system. We are very sad, but know that Heaven has gained another angel. Rest in peace Jody! We shall meet again in glory one day! To Jody's immediate family - please accept my deepest sympathies in the passing of such a grand lady!

It’s strange how you think about someone at a moment in time and then you forget to just see how that person is doing and then you hear of their passing 😢 this is what happened to me , I met Jody 3 years ago in Browning Pearce Elementary, she was my grandsons 2 Nd grade substitute teacher for awhile , Oh my we hit it off right away , she had such love , compassion, and concern for the children she was responsible for to teach . What an amazing woman, she gave 110% to these children I know because my Kaleb was one of them . I thank God so many times for Jody being there at that school at the right time . This child needed a compassionate person at a time in his life who struggled with issues of learning . There’s a Christian song I remember many years back it is sung Ray Boltz, it’s called “Thank You “ , google it and you will understand how I was impacted by this beautiful person Jody Ann Wells Rakes . I will see you again Ms Jody in Heaven some day . I can tell you again THANK YOU ✝️💕 Diane Hutcheson
