Leta Preston Clark, 75, of Palatka, passed from this life unexpectedly on Sunday, April 21, 2019 at her home from natural causes. A native and lifelong resident of Palatka, she graduated from Palatka High School and from Daytona Beach Community College where she obtained her AA Degree. Leta then began working with her mother at Margaret’s Beauty Shop. In 1976, Leta assumed ownership of the shop and operated as Leta and Company until 2015 when she sold the business. She was still serving customers at the time of her passing. Leta had been involved with the “Look Good – Feel Good” program through the American Cancer Society wherein she had styled hair and provided wigs for women who were going through cancer treatments. For many years she had also donated her time and talent in styling hair for the contestants in the Azalea Festival Beauty Pageant. In younger years, she enjoyed playing golf and had been a member of the Palatka Women’s Golf Association. Some of Leta’s favorite past-times were watching Gator Women’s Softball and Basketball and spending quality time with her family, especially her grandkids. Leta also loved her shop and her many loyal customers over the years.
