Phyllis “Jean” Barry, 88, of Palatka, peacefully entered Heavens gates Sunday, May 5, 2019 at Crestwood Nursing Center following an extended illness. Born in Adams County, Wisconsin to Robert and Aleda Jungenberg. She moved from Wisconsin to Crescent City and then to Hastings as a young child. She worked as a merchandiser, a waitress and many years as a beautician.

She was a mother figure to many nieces, nephews and friends as well as her five children. She belonged to College Park Baptist Church and as her witness to Christ she crocheted bible verses into afghans and passed them onto church members, hospice, nursing homes, and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harold Barry, her parents, Robert Jungenberg and Aleda Ester, two brothers, Lyle Jungenberg and Glenn Sonnenberg, two daughters, Renee Stanley Cone and Gwendolyn Bobbitt, and one grandson, Jason Stanley.
Left to cherish her memory are two sons, Gordon Barry and Ernie Barry (Elizabeth), daughter, Darlene Stallings, 5 granddaughters, Nikki Glance, Susan Fleming, Misty Barry, Mandy Barry and April Barry, 5 grandsons, Chris Stallings, Robert Barry (Kristy), Andy Bobbitt, James and Jake Barry, 13 great-grandchildren, Mallory Krueger, Mikayla Ward, Macy Gore, Marlee Glance, Caroline Fleming, Alissa Fleming, Duncan Fleming, Sami Bobbitt, Daniel Barry, Brandon Barry, Evan Barry, Aidan Barry and Raylee Barry and one great-great-grandson, Cohen Ward.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 10, 2019 at Johnson-Overturf Chapel in Palatka with Pastor Pete Wilkinson officiating. Burial will follow at Palatka Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at the funeral home.
