John Scott Hahn, 72, of Palatka, passed from this life on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center following an extended illness. He was a native of Cleveland, OH and had lived in Palatka since 2003 coming from Spring Hill where he had lived for 2 years. Prior to Spring Hill, John had resided in Brunswick, OH. He served in the US Marine Corp and was a Purple Heart recipient and veteran of the Vietnam war. He had attended Baldwin Wallace University in Berea, OH where he received a bachelor’s degree in business. He later attended Life Christian University in Tampa receiving a bachelor’s degree in theology. John had worked with Teamster’s Union as a concrete mixer driver with Cleveland Builders Supply. In his later years he was a licensed minister and was a member of Victory Christian Fellowship in East Palatka where he had taught classes. He was also a member of VFW Post # 3349.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Merlin S. Hahn and Gladys B. Hahn and brother, Michael Hahn.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Terri Hahn of Palatka, daughter, Ellen Harvichak (Devin) of Chardon, OH, brother, Daniel Hahn (Teresa) of Concord Township, OH and granddaughter, Grace Anna Bennett, niece, Brittany Hahn, nephews, Eric and Jarred Hahn, and great-nephews, Alex, Cody and Shawn Jones.

A memorial service celebrating John’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at Johnson-Overturf Chapel in Palatka with Pastor Ben Tippett officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday beginning at 10:00 a.m.
