Rodney Carl Sheffield suddenly passed away in a fishing accident on May 21, 2019 at the age of 67. He was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Madge Sheffield. He is survived by his wife, Cathy Sheffield of 47 years of marriage, two sons, Casey (Katie) and Jason (Trevlyn) Sheffield, and five grandchildren, Luke, Lane, Ivey, Addysen, and Lincoln Sheffield. He is also survived by a younger brother, Kirk (Christina) from Brunswick, Georgia, and numerous nephews, nieces, and other family members.
Rodney was born on January 18, 1952 in Palatka, where he spent most of his life. He had several life-long friends that he remained close to throughout his life. He was a man of God’s will and would deliver “Our Daily Bread,” a daily devotional pamphlet, to many locations throughout the community on a quarterly basis. Cathy, Jason, & Casey, Shella & I were out of town and very shocked when we heard of Rodney's unfortunate accident. Having gone to school, worked with Rodney for so many years, and helped in the construction of ya'lls home in Peniel, I really consider the all of your family to be friends. Our hearts are so very heavy. You are a wonderful "lady", your sons are fine young men, and Rodney was a dedicated husband, father, and friend to all who came in contact with him. Shella and I have you all in our prayers. If we can ever be of some help, please do not hesitate to contact us. Love, John & Shella Bennett
