Thelma Bullard Cox, 100, of East Palatka, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2019 at Five Oaks Rest Home in Welaka following an extended illness. She was a native of Douglas, GA and had lived in Putnam County since 1983 coming from Miami. Thelma was also a talented singer. She recorded several albums and sang on the radio in Miami. She had attended the United Pentecostal Church of Palatka and enjoyed singing, sewing and gardening.
She is preceded in death by her husband, William Barley Cox, parents, Elias Wesley Bullard and Vicey Anderson Bullard, siblings, Harvey Lester Bullard, Robert Wesley Bullard, Pansey B. Hadsock, Lillie Bullard, Sarah Bell Bullard, Winnie B. Malphus.
She is survived by her sons, Bartley T. Cox (Deborah) and Ronald W. Cox, grandchildren, Gina Hendrick (Carl), Lisa Marsh (Tom), Johnny Cox (Katheryn) and Terri cox Garrett, great-grandchildren, Tia Currie, Breanne Currie, John Cox (Juleia), Erin Cox, Bailey Marsh, Kate Marsh, Hannah Marsh and Jasmine Grammer as well as great-great-granddaughter, Canlyn Cox.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at Johnson-Overturf Chapel in Palatka with Bro. Ricky Bybee officiating. Burial will follow in Palatka Memorial Gardens. No visitation is scheduled.
