Robert DeWayne Cope, 68, of Ocklawaha, passed from this life on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at Hospice of Marion County, Brandley House in Summerfield, Florida. Born in Salinas, California to Robert William Cope and Esther Stockton Cope, DeWayne served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He resided in Ocklawaha for 20 years moving there from Orlando. He had worked in real estate sales. In the past, DeWayne had been involved with the Moose Lodge and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. In his leisure time, he enjoyed golf and casino gambling. DeWayne was a member of the Forest United Methodist Church in Silver Springs.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Elena Hull.
DeWayne is survived by his wife of 30 years, Elaine Cope of Ocklawaha, 3 sons, Robert DeWayne Cope, III of Philadelphia, PA, Daniel Allen Cope of Tampa, Matthew Joseph Cope of Portland, OR, a daughter, Ericka Yvonne Cope of Tampa, his siblings, Barbara Silman (Brent) of Prosperity, SC and Brenda Hettiger (Joe) of Lawton, OK, Sharon Graham (Steven) of Augusta, GA and Alan Lauthner (Sherrie) of San Francisco, CA and 7 grandchildren, Michael Gardner, Julia Cope, Zeppa Cope, Joey Cope, Stephen Cope, Serenity Cope and Jacob Cope.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at Oak Hill West Cemetery in Palatka with Pam Davis officiating. No visitation is scheduled.
