Juan Rios, 75, of East Palatka, passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2019 at his daughter’s home in Gainesville following an extended illness. He was a native of Bo Rincon, Sabana Grande, Puerto Rico and moved to the United State at the age of 15. He had worked as a farmer, served in The National Guard in Puerto Rico and later became a truck driver. Juan bought his first truck and moved to West Palm in June of 1977. He, along with his son Juan, began Rios & Sons Trucking in 1998. Juan will be remembered as being a very joyful and kind man who was extremely supportive and protective of his family. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend and will be missed by all.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine Rios, children, Carmen Rios Cohens, Juan Rios (Maria), Noel Rios and Zane Frank (Penny), grandchildren, Maikel Diaz, Juan Nunez, Maria Nunez, Kayla Rios, Vanessa Rios, Chris Rios, Armando Rios, Cara Rios, Brian Petters, Luis Rios Jr., and Brooke Frank, as well as numerous great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Johnson-Overturf Chapel in Palatka with Juan Nunez officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday beginning at 10:00 a.m.
