Kameron Scott Griffis, 21, of Melrose, Florida, passed from this life on Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2019. Born in Gainesville, Kameron became an accomplished musical composer, guitarist, pianist and singer.

His passion for music extended to vinyl record collecting and traveling to shows. Kameron ventured as far as Europe and Canada to see his favorite artists play.
He also spent much of his time in nature—hiking, camping, going to the beach and exploring state parks. Upon high school graduation, Kameron visited two national parks in Alberta, Canada. He later attended Santa Fe College to pursue his interest in environmental science.
Kameron is survived by his parents, Scott and Melinda Griffis of Melrose; sisters, Kelcee Griffis
of Washington, D.C., and Kember Griffis of Gainesville; brother, Kason Griffis of Melrose;
maternal grandmother, Mickey Curington of Florahome; paternal grandparents, Ernestine and
Austin Moody of Keystone Heights; several aunts, uncles and cousins including Cindy Mathis
(Monty) of Jacksonville, Harold Curington (Allison) of Florahome, Chad Moody (Leslie) of
Macclenny, and Katrina Griffis (Robert) of Starke.
A celebration of Kameron’s life will take place Dec. 22 from noon to 4 p.m. at the Gold Head
Branch State Park Recreation Hall in Keystone Heights.
