Reathy Mable Breteler, 86, of Palatka, passed from this life on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at Lakewood Nursing Center in Crescent City following an extended illness. She was born in Jacksonville and was a graduate of Clay County High School in 1952. Over the years, Reathy had resided in Atlanta, Green Cove Springs before settling in Palatka. She had worked as a credit manager with Sears, and as a sales associate with JC Penny. Reathy later worked as a substitute teacher in Interlachen and in medical records for Gwinnett County Hospital. She was a member of the Junior Women’s Club and the Red Hat Society and volunteered with the March of Dimes. Reathy was a member of College Park Baptist Church in Palatka and enjoyed painting in her leisure time.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Rufus and R.V. Parker.
She is survived by her children, Linda Walker of Williston, Randy Bright of Interlachen and Lee Bright of Jonesboro, TN, brother, David H. Parker of Palatka, grandchildren, Amanda, Raymond, Olivia, Jamie, Rachel and Brandon, as well as 5 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery in Green Coves Springs with Bro. Jeff Williams officiating.
