Luis Enrique “Quique” Maldonado, 53, died unexpectedly due to a motorcycle accident on Wednesday, January 15, 2020.

Born in Utuado, Puerto Rico on January 15, 1967, he was the beloved son of the late Fernando Luis Maldonado and Ana Luisa Chevere.
Quique was a longtime Interlachen resident, worked as a self-employed mechanic and was a well-known welder. He loved working on all types of cars, enjoyed the outdoors, traveling, swimming, going on rides on his motorcycles, loved telling jokes, was a NY Yankee fan, loved music, especially Journey, and was a Star Wars fanatic.
Quique is survived by his four children, Amarys Maldonado, Luis Orlando Maldonado, Jose Luis Maldonado and Noemi Maldonado and his six grandchildren, Dakota A., Iliana A. and Winter N. Hall, Lucynda Marie and Luis Damien Maldonado and Faith J. Dinkla. He is also survived by his sister, Jennifer Maldonado, several nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his brother, Fernando Luis Maldonado.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2020 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Johnson-Overtuf Funeral Home, 1253 State Road 20, Interlachen, FL. Burial in Puerto Rico will be private.
